P8AX Series
Gas Discharge Tube
DC Pass
0 – 5 GHz (P8AX)
0 – 6.9 GHz (P8AX-6G)
|
Citel’s P8AX Series is a ultra low capacitance gas discharge tube (GDT) based surge arrestor designed for use in high frequency RF applications up to 6.9 GHz. The P8AX protects sensitive equipment connected to a single coaxial line from a direct lightning strike. The P8AX is installed in series with the line and has several standard grounding options including a grounding screw, mounting bracket or bulkhead.
Available with the most commonly used connectors including BNC, F, N, SMA, TNC, and 7/16 Din connectors or it can be custom made for your application with any combination of connector and gender types to eliminate the need for any adapters.
The P8AX can be used in systems supplying up to +/- 48 volts DC via the coaxial cable and can be provided in 70, 500 and 1,000 watt versions for any 50 or 75 ohm network.

CXP-DCB Series
Hybrid Design
DC Block
125– 1000MHz |
Citel’s CXP-DCB Series is a hybrid surge arrestor designed for use in low frequency RF applications from 125 to 1000MHz. The protection circuit utilizes gas discharge tubes (GDT), inductors, capacitors and metal oxide varistor (MOV). This CXP-DCB is best deployed in low frequency applications that require a very low residual voltage. The CXP-DCB is conveniently installed in series with the line and can be surface mounted via the flange, bulkhead or grounding screw.
Available with the most commonly used connectors including BNC, F, N, SMA, TNC, and 7/16 Din connectors or it can be custom made for your application with any combination of connector and gender types to eliminate the need for any adapters. The CXP-DCB is available in DC block versions and can be provided in 70 and 500 watt versions for any 50 or 75 ohm network.

CXF60-N Series
Hybrid Design
DC Pass
0– 500MHz |
Citel’s CXF60-N Series is a hybrid surge arrestor designed for use in low frequency RF applications from 0 to 500MHz. The protection circuit utilizes gas discharge tubes (GDT) and metal oxide varistors (MOV). The CXF60 is best deployed in low frequency applications that require a very low residual voltage and brute force surge handling capability up to 20kA 8/20us.
The CXF60 is conveniently installed in series with the line and can be grounded via the flange, bulkhead or grounding screw.
Available with N connectors in either male to female (MF) or female to female (FF) genders.

PRC Series

Quarter Wave Stub (QWS)
DC Block
Specific Frequency Range |
Citel’s PRC Series is a Quarter Wave Stub (QWS) surge arrestor designed for specific frequency bands. The PRC does not utilize any active components and allows only the specified frequency to pass thus eliminating low frequency transients. This design allows for very high surge handling capacity up to 100kA 8/20us. The PR is conveniently installed in series with the line and can be mounted via the standard grounding screw or bulkhead.
Available with the most commonly used connectors including BNC, F, N, SMA, TNC, and 7/16 Din connectors or it can be custom made for your application with any combination of connector and gender types to eliminate the need for any adapters.
In applications without a DC voltage on the line, a frequency band pass filter is clearly the best technology available because it has the highest surge handling capacity, lowest let-through voltage and requires no maintenance.
